The boutique Carlyle Inn stands in one of West L.A.'s older residential and business districts, only a mile from Beverly Hills, seven miles from Hollywood and 10 miles from Santa Monica beach. Named after the 19th-century poet Thomas Carlyle, known for his appreciation of elegance, comfort and the "art of living well," the European-style hotel is close to the renowned Rodeo Drive tony shopping district, the Sunset Strip, Century City, the Beverly Center, Melrose and downtown Los Angeles. <br><br> Original signed art, posters and prints are displayed throughout the four-story Carlyle, which features a private garden court and patio, outdoor spa, fitness room and use of a fitness center two blocks away.
